 Suffragette history has always been full of queer women in all aspects and stages of its evolution. However, these people were not always treated well or respected even among the very movement that they were working with.  The author organized this book into several different sections and talked about how being a queer person affected so many parts of the activism and life that these people were trying to lead.  The different aspects of life that the author discussed  in regards to being queer included how they presented themselves to the public, how they decided to live, how they participated in the suffragette movement and how they mourned and also prepared for their death.  This book is really interesting and shows just how important queer people were to the suffragette movement in every part of its evolution even when they were not appreciated or recognized by the movement at large.  I received this book free from NetGalley and NYU Press to review and ...

 This was an enjoyable book of poetry work. I felt like the works included in this book were very focused on the topic of motherhood and the idea of God/a god. I am not in the stage of life where motherhood is a focus or a thought for me and so while I appreciated the work and the subject matter of the poems, they did not draw me in or connect with me as I wished they would have.  There is some truly stunning work included in this book and again I feel like motherhood in particular stuck out to me in all the books writing on femininity.  Truly a deep and emotional piece of work, but not one for my time of life.  I received this book from NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing to review and this is my honest review.  Four out of five stars

 There are a lot of self-care, self-love and all sorts of books that are supposed to tell you and help you make your life better and this book is honestly one of the best versions of that type of book that I have come across in a long time.  The author herself states that this book can be completed in whatever way the read wants to do it. There are some sections that make mention of other parts but nothing that would stop the reader from completing the prompts. That means that the reader can do this book starting from page one or they can open the book each day to a random page and do it like that or they can even decide to do the book from Z to A in complete reverse order. When I read that this was Bella Mayo's debut poetry book, I was astonished. I could honestly believe that this was a book from an accomplished poet. The poems were heartfelt and I could feel the emotion from each of them even if I had not personally experienced the type of love that was the subject.  The titling of each piece was something that really provided a new depth to the work. Starting each title off with the word 'my' already invokes a feeling of it being very personal to the reader.  Bella Mayo does an excellent job with her words to talk about what feels like every type of love possible. Selfless love, selfish love, hurtful love, love that is better off gone and love that you miss every day.
