 Jane Eyre is a literary classic that I have loved since I was a young child along with books like Little Women, Pride and Prejudice and Les Misérables. I have always been interested and have enjoyed reading new interpretations of these stories visualized through different authors. It is always extremely interesting to see how authors and in this case artists stay true to the original story while making sure that it also fits into the new format.  Manga is a very specific style of art and I enjoyed seeing how the artist interpreted the characters descriptions from the book into a visual format. This book and all the other books I have read from Manga Classics have all done a wonderful job adapting the story into a new format while still remaining true to the original. If you like reading manga, I recommend this book,. If you like the original Jane Eyre, this is a wonderful interpretation and if you want to get into either the classics or into manga, this is a wonderful bridge ...

 I believe that this is an excellent translation of the original works insomuch that I can feel the emotions of the work and what the author intended to convey. However, I am not familiar with the works in the original language at all. The difficulties in translating these poems from one language to another was discussed quite in depth at the start of the book due to the meaning and intent behind the work and making sure that it was conveyed properly for the new readers.  This is a beautiful collection of poetry and I am glad that it was translated so that myself and other readers could experience this also.  I received this book free from NetGalley and Pushkin Press to review and this is my honest review.  Four out of five stars

 The original story of Anne of Green Gables is without a doubt a classic and the whole series was one of my favorites growing up. I think that the art of manga is a excellent choice to put this book into. The character of Anne especially feels particularly fitted to manga and the energy that it exudes in its books.  This is a slightly abridged version of the book simply due to the difference from written word to manga but it retains the soul and heart of the original. This is a wonderful way to introduce others, especially kids to the wonders and beauty of classic literature in a format that might be a little more fun for them.  The authors that translated and edited Anne of Green Gables for the manga included a little section at the end of book talking about their process and how they decided to focus on certain topics of the original for the manga and even included characters sketches as well which were very interesting.  I received this book free from NetGalley an...

 Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite classics to read and reimagining's and reinventions of classics are some of my favorite stories to read. And this book is no exception. When I first read the premise, I was curious as to just how the author would turn this into a new story while still retaining the main ideas from the original.  This story does not have as many characters as the original book although most of them were mentioned. However, out of the Bennet family, only Elizabeth was an active character in the story.  The premise of the book that spun out to create the story was a fascinating glimpse into what could be if after Mr. Collins proposal, Mr. Bennett died and the Bennett family went through what Mrs. Bennett always feared would happen.  This is a fun little Christmas story with familiar characters and a fun little misunderstanding debacle that the reader can't believe goes on for as long as it does.  I love the original Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and i love watching all the different interpretations of her work as well whether in print or in film. This is the first one that I have seen that has called itself a 'remix' and I really like that distinction because this story is not a retelling of Little Women or anything like that - this is something that is both new and fresh while still familiar in some way.  Spoiler warning!!!!! Not all of the characters from the original Little Women appear in this book - most notably Professor Bhaer, Mr. Brooks and Laurie's grandfather. There are characters that fulfill similar roles to Mr. Brooks and Laurie's grandfather - relationship wise in the book, but they are not identical and I enjoyed the characters that the author decided upon. There was not Professor Bhaer character at all in the book and his and Jo's story was not in the book which I was sad about because I love that love story. However, I also really enjoy...
